Religious Education Update

SHROVE TUESDAY

St Aidan’s celebrated Shrove Tuesday with plenty of delicious pancakes. Pancakes are eaten on this day as they were seen as a special indulgence before the 40 days of fasting during Lent. 

Thank you the Mini Vinnies who helped organise the pancake morning tea and a special thank you to all those families who donated to Project Compassion. 

ASH WEDNESDAY

St Aidan's attended Mass on Ash Wednesday which signified the start of the Season of Lent. It was wonderful to see the entire Holy Family Church filled with students, families and parishioners. 

THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION

The Bishop’s office has confirmed that the sacrament of Confirmation this will take place in the Holy Family Church on June 19th at 6:00 pm. Students in Year 6 will complete the preparation for this sacrament in class with Mr Brett and the help of Father Allan and Father Anderson. 

CLASS MASS

FAMILY PARISH MASS

A sincere thank you to all the families who joined us for our Family Parish Mass last Saturday. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together in faith, share in a beautiful celebration, and enjoy a delicious pizza dinner afterward.

PURPLE MUFTI FOR LENT

Last week our students wore purple to school to support Project Compassion, bringing a vibrant splash of colour to our community. As the colour of Lent, purple symbolises reflection, sacrifice, and renewal, making it a meaningful choice for this important cause. Thank you for your generous dontaions.

STORYTELLING IN YEAR 4

Throughout each unit of work in Religion, students get the opportunity to explore scripture passages. Year 4 enjoyed exploring the Stations of the Cross through various activities which included artmaking, lego, stop motion and playdough.
