Around the Primary Classes

Prep

The Prep students have had a wonderful start to their year in Prep.  It has been an exciting time welcoming new friends to our College community and reconnecting with our Kinder friends.

The girls have enjoyed learning about 2D shapes and using them to create pictures.  We have also enjoyed our storybook lessons where we have been learning new vocabulary.

We are looking forward to a fabulous year in Prep full of learning and fun.

Year One

What a wonderful start to the 2025 school year. When asking the Year 1 students what their highlights have been so far, their answers include, 'Meeting our new teachers, how lovely it has been meeting new friends and learning new things, doing fun and new things every day and seeing everyone in their formal uniform for the first time, we love our dresses!' A fabulous sign of the amazing year ahead.

Year Two

Students in Year 2 have had a very busy start to Term 1, settling into a new classroom and reconnecting after a long break. In the past couple of weeks they have been doing their fluency readings and Health work.

Year Four

Year 4 have started Term 1 with enthusiasm! Students have settled into routines, creating a friendly, collaborative classroom. Literacy lessons have focused on sentence structure, building strong writing skills. In Maths, we have explored place value, with students enjoying "lightbulb moments." HASS discussions have differentiated rules from laws, sparking interest in civic responsibility and how we can make our classroom a great place for learning. Teamwork is evident, with students supporting each other and celebrating successes. We are excited for a term of continued learning and growth.

Year Five

Year 5 White and 5 Navy students have welcomed quite a few new girls into their classes.  Time has been spent getting to know each other and bonding as a class as well as a year group.  We look forwarding to continuing growing our friendships and knowing getting to know each other on a deeper level as the term progresses.

Year Six

The Year 6 students have had a busy and exciting start to the term! As the leaders of the Primary school, we have been reflecting on what makes a good leader. We’ve been discussing qualities like responsibility, communication, and being a positive role model to our peers. It’s an important role, and we’re proud to represent our school community.

This term, we have also begun reading new novels that have sparked our curiosity and imagination. We’re diving into engaging stories and exploring different perspectives. Alongside this, we are learning new mathematical concepts, which are helping us develop our problem-solving skills and critical thinking.

We kicked off the term with the Swimming Carnival, a fun and competitive event where many students showed their skills in the pool. We also came together for our Opening Mass, which was a beautiful way to start the school year with reflection and prayer.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the rest of the term. There are many more learning opportunities and activities to come, and we’re ready to make the most of them!
