Representative Sport Uniform Change

There are some proposed changes to the Representative Sport uniform. Our goal is to enhance the comfort and wearability while maintaining a professional and cohesive representative sports uniform for all students.

Students representing the College for school sport should wear the following uniform items, unless a prescribed uniform is advised.

The new College polo or singlet top may be worn (student preference) with either the College shorts, College skort or College leggings (no branded labels accepted) which will all soon be available for sale in the College Uniform Shop.

The decision to update the representative uniform comes after careful consideration of feedback from students, parents, and staff, as well as reviewing current trends in school attire. The changes are designed to:

  • Ensure comfort and practicality for students while playing representative sport.

  • Reflect the diversity, values and history of our College community.

  • Maintain a sense of unity and College pride.

  • Offer more inclusive options for all students.

There will be a two year phase in period 2025 - 2026 with all students being expected to be wearing this uniform at the commencement of the 2027 school year. This gives families ample time to prepare for the transition and to purchase any new uniform pieces.

The aim is that these changes will create a more comfortable, inclusive, and cohesive environment for our students, by allowing greater flexibility while maintaining a professional and neat appearance while representing the College.

Students should continue to wear their House top for HPE lessons and College events such as, Field Day, Athletics Day, Swimming Carnivals and Beach Day to continue to engender House spirit and a sense of House pride.

Your feedback is welcomed and we look forward to working together to make this a smooth transition.

Hairstyles (Years 7 - 10)

After careful consideration and feedback from both students and families, we have decided to make a change to the current hair requirements for all Secondary students (Year 7-10). This adjustment is part of our ongoing effort to create a more inclusive and flexible environment for students, while maintaining the standards of professionalism and safety within our College community.

The decision to update our hair requirements stems from the desire to respect and acknowledge the cultural and the diverse personal preferences of our students and to provide a more inclusive environment that allows for greater self-expression in the adolescent years.

The ‘half up and half down’ is now permitted as long as it does not interfere with students learning or their safety, for example, a student working with a bunsen burner in the Science lab if the teacher asks for hair up then the student should comply with this safety expectation.  There are no specific length restrictions for this hairstyles (such as requiring hair to be above the shoulders).
