Year 5/6 Camp – Next Week
Our Year 5/6 students headed off this morning for their camp at Log Cabins, Creswick, where they’ll enjoy two fun-filled days of adventure. The students have been eagerly looking forward to this opportunity to build teamwork, independence, and enjoy the outdoors. We can’t wait to hear about all the exciting experiences when they return!
Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run Torch Visit
Last Wednesday, 30th April, we had the privilege of hosting the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run torch at St. Peter’s. This special event was attended by many St. Peter’s students, and we had the opportunity to meet runners from all around the world. They shared their incredible journeys, and the students were able to touch and hold the torch, symbolizing peace and unity.
The torch last visited St. Peter's 12 years ago, and we were fortunate to be one of only two primary schools in Bendigo to host it. It was a memorable experience, and we are grateful to be part of this global movement for peace.

Catholic Education Week & Enrolments Open for 2026!
We are excited to celebrate Catholic Education Week and announce that enrolments for 2026 are now open! This week is an opportunity for all Catholic schools to celebrate the role we play in our community and reflect on the important values we share. It’s a time to appreciate the gifts of Catholic education and the growth we experience as a school community.
To mark Catholic Education Week, we are inviting families to join us for Learning Walks. These tours will take place on Tuesday, 6th May and Wednesday, 7th May, both at 9:30 am. You’ll have the chance to explore our school and learn more about how we teach and learn, with a tour led by either the Principal or Deputy Principal.
Due to popular demand, we are also offering additional school tours next week on Tuesday, 13th May and Thursday, 15th May, both at 9:30 am. Interested families can book a tour via our school website in the Enrolments section.
If you have a child who will be ready for school in 2026 (or know someone who does), details of the new online enrolment application process are provided on the website, accessible on the following link: https://www.spbendigo.catholic.edu.au/enrolment.html. For further information or support with the enrolment process please contact the school office on 54439319 or email enrolments@spbendigo.catholic.edu.au. We look forward to welcoming you and showing you all that St. Peter’s has to offer!
Sandhurst Switches Off
Wednesday, 7th May marks Sandhurst Switches Off, a day when we turn off the lights and other common uses of electricity at school. This is more than just turning off lights—it’s a way to show that we care about the environment and want to help with climate change. By taking small steps like this, we can make a big difference in the world and show that we care about the planet for future generations.
Even though this is just one day, it reminds us to think about how we use energy every day, so we can keep the Earth healthy for the future.
Mother's Day Breakfast – Friday 9th May
We are excited to invite all families to our annual Mother's Day Breakfast on Friday, 9th May. To celebrate our wonderful mothers, staff will be cooking delicious Bacon & Egg Rolls, and a coffee van will also be onsite to provide refreshments.
Come and join us from 8:30 am to 9:00 am as we celebrate the special women in our lives. It’s a great opportunity to spend time together and show appreciation for all that our mothers do.
We look forward to seeing you there!
