Grade 2 Community News

Dear Grade 2 Families,
We are continuing to have a sensational term 2. The students are becoming more and more confident with our new maths and literacy concepts, and as always, working hard to achieve their learning goals.
English
In InitiaLit, we have been focusing on mastering a variety of spelling rules, such as, ‘y’, ‘ey’ and ‘ar’, along with new tricky words such as, alright, said and always. Each week we have been focusing on new vocabulary words and identifying if they are nouns, verbs or adjectives. During comprehension lessons, we were learning how to make connections with a text while we read to enhance our understanding.
Maths
In maths, we have been learning multiplication using arrays as well as continuing our learning about concepts such as time and length.
Knowledge Building
We have continued our learning about people and places in our local community and the history behind it Including the Werribee River and Point Cook Homestead.
