Mrs Bec Russell and Mrs Justine Harris
Years 3/4 have returned this term with their positive attitude to their learning and earned themselves a class Minecraft party from our Dojo system. (Thank you Mrs Russell).
In writing they had to recall a ghastly but humorous story about false teeth for their recount piece of writing. They were reminded to ensure they record the story in order and not to leave out any important information for the story to make sense.
Following addition last term, we have dived into subtraction. Not only understanding that this is the inverse operation of addition, but we have also looked at recognising equal differences and recording them in number sentences such as:
79 - 12 = 96 - 29
496 - 272 = 349 - 125
In Science, we have begun to look at what is everything made from? Gas, solid, or liquid and can it change from one state to another? Next week we plan to complete an experiment with corn flour and custard powder so you may like to send in an old t-shirt to go over their uniform.
Mrs Russell and Mrs Rhodes have started a choir. Students from K - 6 can participate. They will meet on Tuesdays during lunch time. We thank them for singing at mass this week.
What a wonderful netball day we had this week. Everybody tried their hardest and we were not only competitive but great sports and respectful to other teams and referees. We would like to thank the parents that stepped up to help us out on the day with managing, extra snacks, first aid and general support on such a long day. Thank you, we appreciate it.
