Religious Education & Pastoral Care

Mrs Deb McDouall

Religious Education Coordinator

A lot has happened since our last school newsletter.

We had the wonderful celebration of Easter, we had the sad news of the death of Pope Francis and, in the last 24 hours, we have a new Pope and a new Bishop for Armidale!

Pope Leo XIV has been declared the new Pope of the Catholic Church overnight. No doubt we will learn more about the man and his vision in time.

Last night Rev Dr Peter Murphy was ordained a Bishop in a ceremony in Armidale where our school was represented by Mrs Bearman. We look forward to welcoming him to Barraba in due time.

This morning was a wonderful celebration of Mothers during our school mass, led so capably by the students in Years 3 & 4. Thank you to Mrs Russell and Mrs Harris for your guidance, organisation and skills preparing the mass so beautifully. Thank you to Mrs Sullivan for preparing the morning tea so beautifully.

A special shout out to Lucas who served on the altar for the first time!

A massive congratulations to our newly formed school choir as they made their debut in front of a packed church to sing a thankyou prayer for mothers. Well done!

Our next school mass will be Friday 23 May at 10.15am. Our wonderful senior class will be leading us in this celebration. Everyone is most welcome to come along and join us for this mass.
