Principal's Report

Dear families,
Bill Trevaskis Memorial Seat
Thanks to Andrew McNaughton, Bill’s Memorial Seat is now looking just like new, despite it being 20 years old! It certainly is a very well used spot in our adventure playground.
Cross Country
Division Cross Country will be held in Shepparton at Princess Park Shepparton, on Friday 16th May. The first event is marshalled at 12:00pm. Just a reminder that parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from the event. Mr Tarrant will be there to support the students. We wish these students the best of luck for tomorrow!
National Simultaneous Storytime.
Next Wednesday, students will participate in National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Now in its 24th successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.
This year the book selected is, “The Truck Cat” by Deborah Frenkel.
Gymnastics
This term we will be offering a one-week, gymnastic program through Jets Gymnastics. These sessions will take place each day for 5 days between 2nd June to 6th June, during school time. There will be a cost of $80 per student which includes 5 x 1 hour sessions and bus transport. This excursion forms part of the user-pays basis of the Parent Payment Arrangement Policy. Fees and permission slip have raised on Xuno for your approval. If you have elected to use School Savings Bonus, your child has CSEF or credits on family accounts, these will be applied when Bree returns to school on 22nd May.
We will send out a consent waiver from Jets Gymnastics closer to the date.
Grade 3/4 Camp
Grade 3/4 students camp this year is at Camp Toolangi from Wednesday 20th August to Friday 22nd August.
The cost of camp is $400 per student and includes camp accommodation, activities, transportation and food. CSEF or family credits can be used for this camp. If your child will not be attending camp, please decline this camp, but also email the school to confirm they will not be attending.
More information has been published on XUNO for the grade 3/4 families.
SWPBS Weekly Focus
This weeks SWPBS focus has been looking at the Frog Bog. Students have looked at the four expected behaviours for our Frog Bog:
- including others in your huts
- using sticks for building and digging only
- respect the shared space
- share resources.
It has been great to see lots of our students playing together and building some fantastic huts, shops and putting on concerts over the course of the week.
Have a lovely weekend,
Regards Heather
