Welcome to Term Two

Welcome back to everybody for Term Two! Whether you were taking a holiday from work or simply enjoying a break in the rush for clean school uniforms each morning, we hope that the last two weeks have been restful.

Staff Professional Learning

To begin this term, our staff worked together on Monday 28 April for professional learning with Berry Street training. This training ensures that all staff members are equipped with evidence-based resources and whole school language to support children to connect with one another, with their teachers, and be ready to learn. Our focus on Monday was about identifying, nurturing and celebrating child and community strengths to ensure positive cultures of safety, belonging and achievement.

These days are valuable times where we can all be in the same room as a staff team to ensure that we continue to learn and develop, and we are grateful to families for their understanding as we take these opportunities for staff development through the year.

Better and Fairer Schools Agreement and School Funding

The Better and Fairer Schools Agreement (2025-2034) is a new plan to improve education for all students in Australia, including those in Independent Schools such as St Paul Lutheran School.  As part of the agreement, funding certainty is provided for all schools, including public schools, Catholic Schools and Independent Schools. The agreement is designed to provide more funding, support student wellbeing, and ensure high-quality teaching, benefiting all students.

ALWS Walk My Way

This year, Australian Lutheran World Service is celebrating it’s 75th anniversary with a goal to support 75,000 children with the essentials for a happy, healthy life – food, school and safety. One of the events this year is being held this Saturday, with a fundraising walk in North Adelaide, either 3km or 10 km. For those of you who have connections with Australian Lutheran College’s North Adelaide campus, this is a great way to farewell the site and celebrate your time with ALC, with a community hub on the lawns of the site, including food, coffee and other drinks stalls, live entertainment and more.

You can still register to walk, or you can donate to support a walker or simply make a donation to ALWS. https://walkmyway.org.au/
