Year 6 Confirmation
This Week our Confirmation candidates were visited by Bishop Martin Ashe as part of their preparation for this important sacrament.
Our families attended the Family Faith Formation Evening on Tuesday night. The evening was led by Fr Elio Capra who shared insights into the meaning and significance of the Sacrament of Confirmation, helping families understand the role of the Holy Spirit in strengthening the candidates' faith and guiding them in their journey as active members of the Church.
They are deep in preparation for their Confirmation, which will be celebrated next Friday, 9th May, at St Patrick’s Cathedral in East Melbourne.
We wish all our Confirmation candidates every blessing as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation next Friday. May the Holy Spirit guide and strengthen them on their faith journey.
Holy Week Reflection
As we returned to school after the Easter break, our Social Justice and Catholic Identity leaders led the school in a meaningful reflection on Holy Week. Using the story of The Road to Emmaus, they retold the events of Holy Week and took the story beyond the Resurrection—focusing on how the Holy Spirit continues to make Jesus Christ alive in our lives today.
The reflection reminded us that the Easter story is not just something from the past, but a living reality that calls us to recognise Christ walking with us every day. All students joined together to sing Rise Up to conclude the reflection, filling the space with hope and joy.

Term 2 Scripture
This term, our Religious Education focus is on the theme of hope, inspired by the upcoming Jubilee Year 2025, which the Church has named “Pilgrims of Hope.” This special year invites all of us - students, families and communities to reflect deeply on how hope is lived out in our lives and in our faith.
In class, we are exploring the Scripture passage, Romans 5:5 “Hope does not disappoint, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit” that reveals how hope is central to the Christian story.
This concept of hope is woven throughout the curriculum.

Term 1 Inquiry Learning Showcase
As we head into Term 2, we reflect on Term 1 which was filled with rich learning opportunities, thoughtfully designed by our educators, to spark curiosity, engagement, learning, and inquiry among our students. Our classrooms were alive with animated learners — students who were active, enthusiastic, curious and deeply involved in their learning journeys.
The YouTube clip below captures this energy beautifully!
We look forward to seeing how learning through our new through lines - Diversity, Systems, and Rights & Responsibilities - will continue to grow and flourish in Term 2.
Parent Helper Program
Thank you to the parents who attended the Parent Helper sessions last term and, most recently, on Tuesday afternoon. We truly value the time and support our parents give to help in the classroom. The children benefit greatly from having extra support, whether through reading, small group work, or simply having another caring adult to encourage their learning.
If you missed the session and would like to help out in the classroom, please contact a member of the Learning and Teaching team—we’d love to have you involved!
Maths Family Night
Pop this date in your diaries and meet us in the hall on the 14th of May to particpate in some fun mathematical learning!
