Foundation
Foundation students continue to practice taking books home to read with parents. Students will have the opportunity to select books on Fridays to take home in their book bags and will be restricted currently to 1 book at a time.
Year 1 and 2
During library this term students will continue practicing borrowing and returning books from the library. We ask parents to aid in returning books back to school on Mondays so that students will be able to borrow new books or reborrow books they may need more time with. In the second term students will be able to borrow two books, one to take home and one to read at school.
Year 5 and 6
Students in Years 5 and 6 this term have received library cards to use when borrowing. Books have a maximum borrow time of 1 month but can be bought in to be reborrowed if more time is needed. It is encouraged to bring books in early though when students are finished with them as there is a limit to how many books they can borrow at a time. Library will be scheduled on Friday for Years 5 and 6.
This term students will also begin to examine research skills accessing different sources and learning to identify and check sources.
Year 3 and 4
Library will be on Tuesday for Year 3 and 4. Students are encouraged to bring their library bag on Tuesday to return or borrow. Books can be borrowed up till a month but can be returned earlier. If a student does not bring their library bag, they will still be able to borrow.
This term we will be looking at Roald Dahl's work, analysing his use of creative descriptors and the flow of his stories.
