Highlights from Heights

Term 2 is off to a fantastic start across both campuses! We were honoured to begin the term with a special whole-school Welcome to Country led by Bunurong Elder, Uncle Mark Brown. Our students did a great job of demonstrating our school values, especially respect, during this important event; creating a positive and inclusive tone for the weeks ahead.

This term, our school is focusing on the value of Respect, with students learning about what it looks like in the classroom, the playground, and throughout the school. It’s been wonderful to see students demonstrating respect through their words, actions, and positive interactions with others.

Our Foundation students have settled back into routines beautifully and are making fantastic progress with their learning. They are confidently recognising high-frequency words and strengthening their counting skills each and every day.

In the Junior Learning Centre, students have been eagerly borrowing books and are already showing growth in their reading fluency and comprehension.

Middle Learning Centre students have been learning about the significance of ANZAC Day and even had the chance to bake ANZAC cookies during their kitchen class, blending  learning with hands-on experiences.

Meanwhile, Senior Learning Centre students have been engaging deeply in Environmental Science, recently testing the pH levels of various household materials and discovering some surprising results! It’s been a busy and exciting start to the term and we look forward to the learning and achievements still to come.

Our dedicated staff have also been working hard to support student learning and wellbeing across all year levels. The upcoming Curriculum Day on Monday, May 5th, will be an important opportunity for all staff to collaborate, reflect, and plan together to ensure our school continues to thrive and every student is supported to reach their full potential.
