CPS Harmony Day

It was wonderful yesterday to see so many students come to school wearing traditional dress to recognise Harmony Week. There was a real sense of excitement across the school, with many students eager to share their culture and learn about the backgrounds of others. It was particularly nice to speak with a number of students who proudly wore traditional dress representing countries such as South Africa, Jordan and Cambodia, as well as many other cultures within our school community. Throughout the day, students also participated in classroom activities focused on culture, identity and belonging, helping reinforce the importance of respect and inclusion for everyone in our school.

Parent teacher interviews

Parent teacher interviews will take place next week. These meetings help strengthen the partnership between home and school and support your child’s success. They provide an important opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and learning so far this year.

Please note that interviews are scheduled for 10 minutes each. Interview times are often scheduled back-to-back, so we appreciate your support in arriving on time for your allocated appointment. All interviews will be held in your child’s classroom unless alternative arrangements have been made with the class teacher.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Cross Country Year 3 - 6 (& year 2 students who turn 8 in 2026)

Please note there has been a change of date for our Cross Country carnival. Unfortunately, our original back-up date had a potential clash with the Selective High School Placement Test. It was important for us to hold the event on a day where all students have the opportunity to participate, so the carnival will now be held on Thursday, 23 April, which is the second day back for students in Term 2.

Thank you for a great term 1

As this is the final newsletter for the term, I would like to wish all families a safe, happy and healthy Easter holiday break. It has been a very positive start to the school year, with students settling into routines quickly, classrooms focused on learning, and many opportunities already for students to participate in sport, leadership and school events. Thank you to our staff, students and families for the way the year has started. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for Term 2.
