A STEM event run by the University of Newcastle and supported by local businesses such as Transgrid, Inland Rail, Rotary, Riverina Water and Nixon’s Engineering – students took part in a variety of challenges where they competed against other schools in the Wagga Wagga Region.

The challenges put our students' skills to the test in a variety of engaging activities, including: Building a Bridge; Wind Turbine, Flight, Eco-Habitech, Fish Traps, ElectraCity, The Grab Lab, and Confounding Communications.

The focus of the day on learning, collaborating, and discovering the exciting possibilities of science and engineering - our students demonstrated incredible teamwork and creativity throughout, tackling each challenge with enthusiasm and determination.

Coming 6th overall on the day, Kildare won the main challenge event – the prestigious 'Bridge Challenge' – where they designed and constructed a sturdy bridge to withstand significant loads. A huge congratulations to Isaac, Conor, Alexia, and Dave for their outstanding first place! Their structural design and engineering prowess were truly impressive.

With the students pushing their boundaries and demonstrating the incredible potential within our school community, we look forward to seeing what they achieve in the future!
