Year 9 Outdoor Education Conquer Kosciuszko

Our recent excursion to Kosciuszko National Park in early March proved that while you can’t control the weather, you can certainly control your spirit. From the shores of Lake Jindabyne to the literal top of Australia, our students showed incredible resilience and camaraderie.
On Day 1 Mother Nature had other plans for our scheduled mountain biking. With wet weather making the trails a bit too "adventurous," we pivoted to the fantastic facilities at Crackenback Resort.Instead of mud-splattered jerseys, we saw students mastering Golf & Disc Golf Archery and Tennis:
Day 2 was the main event: the Main Range Walk. Despite the thick cloud cover and misty conditions, the group set off on the grueling 22km circuit. The visibility might have been low, but the morale was high. After hours of steady trekking, every single student reached the summit of Mount Kosciuszko. Standing at the highest point in Australia (2,228 meters above sea level) was a proud moment for everyone. The sense of achievement was palpable as the group posed for photos at the summit cairn, pleased to have conquered the peak despite the overcast skies.
Day 3 we traded hiking boots for life jackets as we headed to Lake Jindabyne. The students took to the water for a morning of sailing, enjoying the breeze and the expansive views of the lake.
Throughout the trip, the students truly embraced the "rugged" lifestyle. They camped out each night, showing great maturity by setting up their own shelters and cooking their own meals
Well done to all the participants for their grit, good humor, and excellent camp-side cooking!
