What is ‘Cyber Safety Project’?

Cyber Safety Project is a program designed to help students develop the knowledge and skills they need to be safe, responsible and positive when using technology and the internet.

As part of this pilot program, our school will have access to a cyber safety curriculum for students from Foundation to Year 8. Teachers will deliver age-appropriate lessons that help students understand how to navigate the online world safely and respectfully.

What the program includes

Through the program, our school will receive:

  • Foundation to Year 8 cyber safety curriculum
  • Professional learning for staff
  • parent webinar (TBC) to help families support safe technology use at home

Program values

The program is based on four key values that encourage positive online behaviour:

  • Responsibility
  • Integrity
  • Strength
  • Empathy

Cost

The program is fully funded by MACS, so there is no cost to our school or families.

As part of the pilot program, students in Years 5 and 6 will complete a short survey to help establish baseline data about students’ understanding of cyber safety. This information will help guide the program and measure its impact.

We look forward to working together with families to continue supporting our students to be safe, respectful and confident digital citizens.
