Project Compassion

This Lent, our school community is invited to be a part of something incredible. Once again, we are called to stand hand in hand with thousands of others across the country and Unite Against Poverty by supporting Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion. Together, through faith and action, we can bring hope and opportunity to those most in need.

Harmony Day - TOMORROW

We will celebrate Harmony Day on Friday 20th March. This is our day to celebrate and recognise the rich diversity of our nation, from the Traditional Owners of the land to our most recent arrivals. The day is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

To show our support, students, parents and staff are invited to wear something orange. This could be as simple as a hair tie, a t-shirt, socks or even a wrist band. Feel free to be as creative as you like.

As Catholics, we also take the opportunity to support the incredible work of Caritas Australia. Caritas Australia partners with local organisations and Church partners to bring aid and relief to people whose lives have been devastated by natural disaster or conflict. Every family is invited to make a Gold Coin donation on the day as we support their very important work. During the day Brooklyn, Chloe and Leisel will be joining these coins together in a creative way to commemorate our day.

We look forward to celebrating as a community tomorrow.

WATER WELLS

Next Friday, 27 March, the Year Fives will be participating in an activity which demostrates the importance of water in countries where it needs to be collected from a well.               The students will learn how hard it is to carry a bucket of water a certain distance without losing any, raising awareness of and money for Caritas to build more permanent and safe water systems in countries still lacking these essentail resources. What a great activity for Lent!
