Class Information
Our Foundation students are settling in well to their new morning routine of lining up as well as meeting their parents at the pick-up points at the end of the day. We appreciate all of the support with both of the routines which assist the Foundation students to settle into school smoothly, as well as developing independence.
To help our mornings run smoothly and to support all children in settling into their day, we kindly ask that parents and caregivers do not enter the Foundation classroom after 9:00am.
If your child arrives after 9:00am, please head straight to the front office to sign them in before they go to class. This ensures our attendance records are accurate and that every child starts their day safely and calmly.
On Tuesday the 24th of March we have our school photo day. Foundation students would normally wear their sports uniform on this day, however, are required to wear their formal summer uniform instead. Physical Education classes will cater for the students to wear their summer uniform.
Each year our Foundation students are provided with the opportunity to have a free health screen from the school nurse. The program aims to assist in the early identification of children with potential health and development related learning difficulties. The school nurse undertakes vision, hearing, speech, dental, behaviour and motor skills checks. Every year we have found these checks extremely important and beneficial to families. Tomorrow (Tuesday 17th of March), we will send home an envelope with a questionnaire and information about the health screens. These forms will be in your child’s reader bag. The school nurse will visit on Tuesday the 21st and 28th of April in term two. Could parents please take the time to complete these forms and return them to school by Friday the 27th of March. If you have any questions about this program, please do not hesitate to contact your classroom teacher.
Each week, all Foundation classes will celebrate one student from each class who is their Pupil of the Week. Congratulations to the following students:
FCM – Isla & Jeremy
FSC – Bailey & Winter
FAB – Freddie & Peter
On Friday the 27th the Foundation students and Grade 5 Buddies will attend class Mass in the St Liborius Church. Families are invited to attend Mass at 9:15am.
If you have any boxes at home that you could donate to the collage area for investigation time, this would be greatly appreciated. We seem to be running low at the moment because we have lots of Foundation students enjoying the collage area.
Last day of Term 1 will be Thursday 2nd of April.
