Wellbeing and Inclusion

As we come to the end of Term 1, we would like to thank our families for your ongoing support in helping our students have a positive and successful start to the year.

Our staff have continued to build their knowledge and skills to support student Wellbeing and Inclusion.  This has included professional learning through Berry Street Education Model Day 3, with a focus on Stamina and Engagement.  Across the school, students have been supported through daily practices such as Welcome Circles, helping to build connection, readiness for learning and a positive start to the day.

Our Great Start Program has focused on building strong foundations for learning, embedding our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Excellence and Growth across all settings.  Throughout the term, students have been learning and practising our expected behaviours and routines, helping to create a calm, predictable and supportive environment where everyone can thrive.

We are also proud to support our students and families through initiatives such as Food Bank, including food boxes for families.  Fresh fruit is made available each week for students to enjoy, promoting healthy eating habits and giving them the energy they need to focus and participate fully in their learning.

It has been a busy and rewarding term, with many opportunities for students to connect, learn, and grow.  We loved celebrating Harmony Day, where students came together to recognise and celebrate diversity, inclusion, and a strong sense of belonging within our school community.  Students also participated in valuable sessions with Kim Barne Connections, taking part in engaging year-level cohort activities designed to build connection, teamwork, and a sense of belonging.

Looking ahead to Term 2, we are excited to offer a wide range of additional supports and opportunities designed to enrich student Wellbeing and Inclusion.  Students may have the chance to participate in Hands-on Learning activities and a variety of Lunchtime Clubs, giving students the opportunity to explore their interests and build friendships in a supportive environment.  In addition, our targeted Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) groups will provide students with strategies to manage emotions, strengthen relationships, and build resilience.

Thank you for working in partnership with us to support your child’s wellbeing and learning.  We wish all families a safe, happy and restful break and look forward to another great term ahead.
