Year 7 Great Aussie Bush Camp:

Next week, our Year 7 students will be attending the Great Aussie Bush Camp located at Kincumber. This exciting experience will provide students with the opportunity to participate in a range of fun and engaging activities, with a strong focus on building teamwork. Students will be encouraged to work together, support one another, and develop new friendships throughout the camp. We trust that this will be an enjoyable and memorable experience for all of our Year 7 students, and we look forward to hearing about their adventures when they return.

Harmony Day

As a College community, we will celebrate Harmony Day on Monday 23 March 2026. Harmony Day is an opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the rich cultural diversity within our school and across Australia.

Students and staff are invited to participate by choosing one of the following dress options for the day:

  • Traditional cultural dress, OR
  • Sports uniform with items representing cultural background (e.g. hat, jersey, colours or flags), OR
  • School uniform or sports uniform with orange accessories such as hair ribbons, bracelets, or other orange items.

Arrangements for the day:

  • Homeroom and Periods 1–4 will run as normal.
  • During lunch, we will celebrate together with an Aussie BBQ. All students and staff will receive a sausage sandwich at lunch.
  • After lunch there will be a series of multicultural performances

We look forward to celebrating the many cultures that make up our College community and sharing this special day together.

Maximizing Learning Time: The Importance of Scheduling Appointments

We understand that some medical and personal appointments are unavoidable during school hours. However, we have recently noticed an increase in students arriving late or leaving early due to scheduled commitments. Every moment in the classroom is valuable, and consistent attendance plays a crucial role in academic success. Missing even a short portion of the school day can disrupt learning, making it harder for students to stay on track with their coursework.

Whenever possible, we kindly ask families to schedule appointments outside of school hours to minimize disruptions. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that students get the most out of their education. Of course, we recognize that some appointments are unavoidable, and these would be preplanned appointments. In this instance, we encourage parents / guardians to communicate with the school by writing a note in your daughter's diary if a student is to be partially absent. Further to this, we know and recognise that emergency situations arise where forewarning can not be provided and we do not refer to those instances. Thank you for your support in prioritizing learning and helping students make the most of their time at college.

Driving and Parking During Drop-Off and Pick-Up

To ensure student safety and maintain smooth traffic flow, the bus bay must remain clear during morning arrivals, homeroom, and afternoon dismissal to allow access for scheduled bus services.

Parents and carers are asked to use the designated Kiss and Drop zone at the front of the school when dropping students off in the morning and collecting them in the afternoon. To assist with traffic flow and safety, please do not park on the school grounds or across the driveway, as buses require clear access to enter and exit the school.

In the afternoon, buses enter the school grounds to collect students. For safety reasons, cars must not exit the car park via the entry gate at any time.

We appreciate your patience during busy periods and ask that drivers remain mindful of pedestrians and other vehicles. Students are reminded to use the designated pedestrian crossings when entering and leaving the College.

Thank you for your continued cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone in our school community.
