Friday Assembly!

We had a special assembly this Friday, to celebrate the end of our Science Week! The students were encouraged to dress-up in anything to do with Science. During the assembly, we celebrated the students' amazing costumes with a parade witnessed by a large number of parents.

During assembly, the long-awaited lolly jar announcement was finally drawn! Two lucky students who guessed the closest amount took home their lolly jars, with a big smile on their faces.

Congradulations to Luca in 3B and Alexis in Prep O.

Thank you to all the helpers and to everyone who got involved!

Year 3 Excursion!

This week, our grade 3 students enjoyed an exciting tram ride to the Melbourne Museum. There, they learned about climate change and ways to protect our planet. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the grade 3 mums who participated in this excursion—your support was greatly appreciated.

Beachside Soccer

Last Thursday a group of girls took part in the Beachside Soccer Tournament out at Cheltenham. The girls knew it was going to be tobe some very good competition and where ready to play. Game 1 saw them play Loreto. It was a tough contest, Galilee with plenty of possession early but just not being able to score. Loreto fortunately scored and put themselves ahead. This lead to another quick goal and we were down 2-0. Half-time occurred and Ms. McGlinchy made some changes. We attacked some more and right on

the bell of full time we scored. Unfortunately losing 1-2. Game 2 we played St. James. A strong contest against them and again we had a lot of possession. We were down 0-1 at half time but things were happening up front. We then went on a rampage and scored 3 goals in quick succession.

GOAL! GOAL! GOAL!

We won 3-1

WE HAD PROGRESSED TO THE SEMI-FINALS!

We played against Firbank, a strong and well-drilled team. We went into this game with no fear and wanting to enjoy this challenge. Within the first 3 minutes we had scored! We were up and about! It was a tough tussle, back and forth but then Firbank scored.1-1 just before half time. We continued to attack and defend but sadly

went down 1-3.

A terrific day with terrific weather. Well done to the girls!

Italian Incursion!

On Wednesday 28th August we are having an Italian incursion, ‘I Tarantati.’, a traditional southern Italian dance. The children will be taken on a trip around Italy in song and dance. There promises to be many magical and funny musical adventures, accompanied by the tambourine and the classic Italian accordion.
