Junior School House Athletics Carnival
Although we were disappointed to have to postpone our Junior School Athletics Carnival due to this week’s unfavourable weather, we appreciate the flexibility of the school community. We remain hopeful for better conditions next Thursday, 29 August.
In the meantime, it’s been fantastic to see the successful completion of several events, including the 800 metres and the jumps and throws. We’ve already witnessed some remarkable performances and look forward to even more impressive efforts when we come together for the carnival next week.
Thank you for your understanding and enthusiasm. We’re eager to enjoy a great event next Thursday.
Spirit of Performing Arts Festival
Many of our Junior School boys have been actively involved in rehearsing and performing as part of the Catholic Performing Arts Festival. It has been wonderful to witness their dedication and talent as they showcase their diverse abilities. Although not all awards have been announced yet, we’re thrilled to share that our Junior Vocal Ensemble has received an Outstanding award for Sacred Singing. This is a fantastic accomplishment for both the group and Mrs. Clarke.
Parents Pick-Up and Child Safety Reminder
The College is still observing several traffic congestion issues that pose an immediate danger to many of our Junior and Senior students. Therefore, in the interest of student safety, parents are asked to follow all road-safety rules and consider the following during peak drop-off and pick-up times.
- Your patience will ensure the safety of each student at the College
- Please adhere to the speed limit (10km) within the College
- Please move slowly through the Main driveway and the roundabout near the canopy
- Please do not enter the roundabout on the Main driveway unless the area is clear. This way, exiting cars can depart via Braithwaite Street
- Please do not park on or near the crosswalks within the College—only park in designated bays
- Please do not perform U-turns on Sailani Avenue.
- Please do not stop in the middle of Sailani Crescent to allow your children to enter the vehicle as this is creating dangerous situations with students running to parents' cars and the banking back of traffic.
- Please comply with all No Parking signs on Sailani Avenue.
- Please do not park in the Bus stand area on Sailani Avenue.
- Please don't double-park anywhere. The buses struggle to move on Sailani Avenue safely.
- Please remind your sons to check for traffic and cross carefully and safely.
- If possible, try to stagger drop-off and pick-up times. After-hours supervision is available in the Senior School Library Monday to Thursday.
We appreciate your patience and support in ensuring each student's safety at the College.
