Year 3 Update

Upcoming learning: Term 3, Weeks 6 & 7

During the next fortnight, Year 3 students will be undertaking learning in the following areas:

Literacy To understand and write narrative texts. To understand how to change the tense of a word by adding the suffix ‘ing’. To understand how to make the long u vowel sound using ‘ui’ as in fruit.
Maths To understand subtraction. To understand capacity.
Inquiry To understand the impact of European settlement in Australia.
Social and Emotional To identify the interests of ourselves and others in our Year 3 class.

News and reminders

Homework books: Please remind your child to bring their homework books to their teacher on their day. Please refer to the class Compass page or ask the teacher if you are unsure of the correct day.

Drink bottles: Please remember to bring a drink bottle to school every day. It saves disruption to your child's learning when this is accessible within the room. They are able to fill up their bottles in a nearby classroom.

Swimming: A swimming checklist has been sent home with every student this week. Please ensure these are returned to your child's teacher as soon as possible.
