Production News
Important Production Information
Wow! Only a one more day till we are at Robert Blackwood Hall and celebrating the tremendous effort and spectacular talent of Murrumbeena Primary School students! Costumes have arrived, and rehearsal run-throughs have gone exceptionally well this week. I am excited to say it is going to be a brilliant show!
There are still a few tickets left, so don't miss out on what will be a magical evening. A huge amount of effort has been put into this production, and it really will be a night to remember.
Below is lots of essential information about Production Week. Please read very carefully (I know it is a lot, but it is all important).
COSTUMES:
The costumes have now arrived and look amazing. Most costumes will be sent home tonight in a labelled bag. Class teachers will keep some costume items eg accessories. DO NOT wash costumes or alter them (other than pinning them if desired). Students must wear costumes to the evening performance. Students DO NOT need to wear or bring them to the dress rehearsal on Friday.
Students may wear a black singlet, t-shirt, leggings, stockings or shorts etc, under the costume if desired.
All students should wear black shoes suitable for dancing in.
If you have any questions, please contact the class teacher.
Friday - Day Excursion
This is a normal school day from 9 am - 3:30 pm.
Prep - Year 3 students and some principal Chitty Chitty Bang bang cast will be leaving school at 9:15 am, so please do not be late to school as the busses must leave at 9:15 am with no delay.
Please make sure you have signed the permission form.
Students must wear school uniforms.
Canteen only available for Preps- Year 3 (Prep - Year 3 will be back at school by lunch)
Year 4 - 6 students must have lunch in a labelled bag and a bottle of water with their name on it.
Friday- Evening Performance
We ask that students have dinner before arriving at the theatre and only bring their water bottle. There is no need for students to be eating their way through the show. In addition, parents will not be allowed to take snacks purchased at the kiosk to the students during the evening as this was very problematic in previous years.
Students must arrive at the theatre in their costumes between 5:45pm and 6pm. Please do not be late. Please bring students to sign in doors at front of theatre- they will be labelled with Year levels. No parents will be allowed into the theatre before the show. Students may bring an additional warm jumper to wear if their costume is not warm.
The show starts promptly at 6:45 pm. Please be in your seats by this time.
The show is being professionally filmed and can be purchased - this way you can enjoy watching the show and not worry about filming on your phone which can be very distracting.
This year, the show will also be professionally photographed, with families able to purchase copies of the photos they want.
No flash photography
Students can be collected AFTER the production finishes at approximately 9:20 pm. They will be collected from the drop off/pick up location outside the theatre entrance. Please be patient.
As per all information sent out, students will not be dismissed before the end of the whole production and cannot be picked up at any stage during the performance.
If your student will not be at school on Monday 9th September, please make sure they have a change of clothes with them so the can change after the performance and return their costume to their teacher. Otherwise, students will wear the costume home after the performance. Please inform the class teacher if they need to collect costumes due to Monday's absence.
Monday 9th September
All parts of the costume MUST be returned in their bag to the class teacher on Monday 9th September. DO NOT WASH OR CLEAN COSTUMES. Charges will apply to any missing or damaged costumes. You may be charged a late fee if costumes are not returned on time.
Thank you for all your support and enthusiasm.
We cannot wait to see you Friday night.
