Mr Michael Connolly, Head of Primary School
This Friday, we welcome our class of 2025 to the College for their Orientation Day. I am sure there is a healthy mix of excitement and nerves for all the boys who will join us on Friday to take their first steps on their Marist journey. We have a number of activities planned for them on Friday and look forward to making these future Marist Men welcome in our community. Theirs is a journey that will culminate when they leave us as the graduating class of 2032.
Also on Friday, we wish our Year 6 students all the best as they take part in their Year 7 Orientation Day here at the College. These boys too will be feeling a range of emotions during the week ahead and that is perfectly normal, as the move from Primary School to High School is very much uncharted territory for most of them at this stage of Year 6. I am sure our current Year 6 boys will do themselves, their parents and their teachers proud on Friday as they show the new students what it means to be 100% Marist, 100% of the time.
A reminder that our Year 5 students do not need to attend school this Friday however, we have asked every Year 5 student to bring his laptop and recharging lead to school on Thursday to assist with the Orientation Day on Friday. The devices and leads will be returned to the students on Monday morning.
I would like to wish all the dads out there a happy Father’s Day this Sunday and hope that you all get a little bit spoilt at some stage.
Have a great Week 8.
Student Sign-In/Out Procedures
A gentle reminder to all parents and guardians—if your son is arriving late or needs to leave early, we kindly ask that you walk him to the office and sign him in or out. This ensures the safety and proper record-keeping for all our students. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Wellness Week Reflections
Last week, our students had the opportunity to focus on their mental and brain health during Wellness Week. It was heartening to see the boys actively participating in a variety of activities during lunch breaks, some of which they may have never tried before. From yoga sessions to nature walks along the creek bank, the boys embraced new experiences with enthusiasm. A special thank you to our library staff for facilitating these wonderful activities and helping to create an environment of mindfulness and well-being.
Upcoming Orientation Day
This coming Friday, we are excited to welcome our Year 5 students for 2025 to the College as part of their Orientation Day. At the same time, our current Year 6 students will be heading to the high school for their own Orientation Day, marking an important step in their transition. Meanwhile, our current Year 5 students will enjoy a well-deserved day at home!
Earlier this term, assessment calendars were emailed to all parents and students. Please note the upcoming assessments for your boys.

Please note that the feedback and grades for these and previous assessments will be released onto Student Café and Parent Lounge as part of our progressive reporting. It is vital that students engage with their feedback in order to facilitate future progress.
Progressive Reporting
Over the course of the term, teachers have released grades and feedback for students and parents regarding assessments completed to date. This is released approximately 10 school days after assessments have been completed to provide time for teachers to mark, grade and moderate. It is important that students are actively invested in checking their grades and feedback to inform future progress. Next term, I will work with students on calculating their GPA. This is their way of tracking their progress regarding their own learning. Please see the instructions below for accessing these results:
