From the

Leader of Co Curricular

Mr Nathan Smith

Athletics

Last week we sent a small team (in comparison to other schools) to Conference 3 Athletics, held at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre. Our students competed in hot conditions, gave their best in every event with many coming away with personal bests.

We definitely won the GOLD medal for supporting and cheering on from the grandstands which was fantastic.

Students who made the podium on their performances were:

  • Kobe Soreson (1st 100m with a new record 10.87) - U17 +
  • Jett Murphy (1st long jump with a new record 6.04m & 2nd discus) - U17 +
  • Dane Sutton (2nd 1500m and 1st 800m) - 16 years
  • Leah Gjuratic (3rd discus) - 12 years
  • Milla Gasnier (2nd discus) - 13 years
  • Finlay Kent (2nd 1500m) - 12 years
  • Cleo Jovcevski (3rd 1500m) - 12 years
  • Isabella Komon (3rd 200m) - 13 years

The students were amazing all day and are all congratulated for their efforts.

Athletics Alumni - Mia Toohey

A big shout out to 2023 graduate Mia Toohey who is currently representing Australia at the World Junior Athletics Championships in Lima. Mia qualified for the 3000m steeplechase event and ran a PB to make the final.

Congratulations to Mia who again lowered her PB in the final with a 10.17 min and crossed the line in 13th position. A wonderful achievement and we are so proud of her results.
