It is great to see all our Year 12 students return from their Trial HSC exam period. Their maturity and dedication in approaching this assessment block is to be commended. One crucial point that came out of the talk was the realisation that the HSC is a journey and all the students have the ability to keep improving on their marks in the lead up to the exams. The Trial HSC is called a trial for a reason. It is the first time that all our students have sat a 3 hour exam. There will be many lessons to be learnt from the last 2 weeks of exams so please look at this as a time to continue to learn from this experience. Now is an extremely important and challenging time in the life of our students. Results are now being handed back and all students need to reflect on their marks and feedback that they have received. Teachers are more than happy to help any student move forward. It is also important for students and parents to understand the importance of these next few weeks. Many classes are still teaching HSC content and following the end of these units of work, all subjects will be revising and going over practice HSC papers. It is therefore important to realise that this period of time is not a time to take extended days off school or holidays. It is crucial to move forward in preparation for the HSC.
A number of our students are also in the community on work experience. The College wishes them all the best and looks forward to their return for the graduation activities in Week 10.
Over the next few weeks there will be a number of things that the students will need to complete such as College references, Graduation events, school sign out procedures and the Year 12 Formal. It is important that all students and families regularly check communication from the school as the term progresses. These last few weeks will be rewarding for our students especially if they remain focused, follow College expectations and continue to make the most out of every opportunity that the College has to offer.
Congratulations to our Year 12 students who spoke to a number of our Year 11 students about what they have learnt from their Trial HSC experience.
