Year 6 News

Year 6 students have been very busy celebrating Numeracy Week, The Olympics, Science Week and Book Week! With all of these exciting celebrations taking place, we have completed many engaging activities that have linked to these amazing events.

During Numeracy Week, students participated in a series of small challenges, earning Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals for their class. Special mention to 6JW for claiming the most Gold Medals in our cohort. Students also explored the size of a Water Polo Pool and completed an open ended task designing a new unique pool for the LA 2028 Olympics, meeting a range of mathematical requirements.

During Science Week, the Year 6 students used Minecraft Education to learn about what Biodiversity is and why certain animals are more likely to become vulnerable to extinction.

This week, students showed their love of reading and creativity dressing up as various characters from books. They looked awesome and had a great day!
