Prep Excursion

Our Prep children had a wonderful time at their school excursion last week.  They visited the Currumbin Outdoor Environmental Centre and enjoyed a range of fabulous learning experiences, investigating, exploring and playing.

Run for Fun Colour Explosion

We are very excited about our upcoming Run for Fun Colour Explosion!  Our P&C team are doing an incredible job coordinating this major fundraiser towards the long term goal of a new playground.

Today, some lucky students won the chance to slime our principal, Mrs Harlow, in the lead up to the main event, the Run for Fun Colour Explosion.  A video of the slime the Principal will be shared via ClassDojo and teachers will be able to show it to students.

Parents and carers, please remember to set up your online profile with Australian Fundraising and pay the $10 participation fee by Tuesday, 3 September as that is the cut-off date.  Unfortunately, donations after that time will not qualify a student to participate due to the logistical requirements to prepare for the event.  Families experiencing financial difficulty are asked to contact us before that date for assistance so that children don't miss out.

The reminder flyer sent home with students has more important information and we encourage families to keep it to refer to.

We look forward to seeing parents and carers spectating on the day and thank you in advance to all who have volunteered via Qkr.

Father's Day

A very big thank you to our P&C and wonderful volunteers for running another successful Father's Day Stall. Children have enjoyed selecting gifts to show their love and appreciation.

Special thanks to Leah Johnston for coordinating the Father's Day stall!  She has worked quietly behind the scenes making this opportunity and the Mother's Day stall possible throughout the years.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and other special adults in the lives of our students!

School Council Elected Parent Member

Sadly, terms of elected members of our School Council are limited to 2 years and Fiona Luke has recently contributed at her final meeting.  Throughout her 2 years as an elected parent member of our school council, Fiona has provided thoughtful and positive input, helping our school to sustain our improvement.  Fiona is also our P&C Vice President and goes above and beyond helping to foster community connection, opportunities for our students and enhancements for our school.

Thank you to Fiona for being an important part of our School Council.

Collaborative Planning

Next week, teaching teams will be provided additional time off class, working with our Curriculum Leaders to coordinate the educational programs and assessment for next term. This ensures that we have a high level of consistency and quality planning across all year levels.

Reminder

Tomorrow, 30 August is a Public Holiday for the Gold Coast Show.
