Dear Parents,
This week marks our School Support Recognition Week (26 to 30 August), our annual celebration of school administrative and support staff (SASS) and other non-teaching staff, and the invaluable role they play in keeping our school running smoothly. Our school support staff are integral to our school community. Whether it’s supporting learners in the classroom, greeting our school visitors, managing essential school finances or maintaining school grounds, these amazing people deliver outstanding service and support to teachers, students, parents and carers, and the wider community. Thank you to our SASS and non-teaching staff who play a vital role in supporting our Bathurst Public School community.

Well done to Mr Thackray and the BPS Cricket Team who played a quality team from Orange Public School on Monday. We batted and scored 66 runs and it was an excellent score given some of the bowling we were up against. We bowled and fielded really well and it took Orange 20 overs beat us. Everyone contributed to our success this year and it's been wonderful to watch this group develop and be so supportive of one another. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who supported us, assisted with travel and scored. We can’t do these sports without your help so, thank you.
Tomorrow, Friday 30th August is Jersey Day. We are encouraging our children to come to school dressed in mufti and wearing their favourite jersey (football, soccer, netball, hockey etc) on this day. This is the 1 year anniversary of Cathy Kassis and is a wonderful way to remember our beautiful friend. We have planted a magnolia tree in Cathy's honour near the Kinder rooms overlooking Lambert Street. It will be the most gorgeous shade of purple when it blooms. There will be no money collected on this mufti day. If you would like to know more about the significance of Jersey Day, please visit https://www.jerseyday.com.au
Tomorrow we will be holding our annual Fathers Day Breakfast from 7.30am in the top quad. All parents and friends are welcome to come along. Throughout the day, children can also attend the Father's Day Stall in the McMullen Hall. All gifts at the stall are $5. We thank the P&C for coordinating these important events.
A general reminder that supervision at school commences at 8.30 am each morning. Any child that is dropped off at school before this time should sit in the foyer until teachers commence supervision on the playground at 8.30 am. Alternatively, ASPIRE OSCH provides supervised before-school care on our grounds. ASPIRE can be contacted on 0467 561 543.
