Country Skiing Years 3 and 4

Day 4

Our students in years 3/4 haved enjoy the last of their sessions with Howmans Gap 4 week cross country skiing program on Wednesday. With luck on our side the rain clouds parted and the sun shone with a magnificant bluebird day. Students made it right out the rock wall.

Howmans Gap are kindly helping to run our sessions again this year and we extend our thanks to them and also to AGL, for helping sponsor some of the costs involved with this year's skiing programs.

Our year 5 and 6 students will commence their cross country skiing sessions Wednesday 21st August.

Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding

Day 2

Our Year 5 and 6 students head up to Falls Creek tomorrow for their second day of downhill skiing/snowboarding.

In the advanced ski group, we have been learning javelin turns. With javelin turns when you’re turning you lift up your outside ski and then when you’re leaving the turn you put it back down. When we’re in our free ski time we’ve been skiing, Sky line, Father Fosters, Scots and Lake side. Our parent helpers have been super helpful when it comes to crashes, struggling on steep slopes and just skiing in general. Everyone has done a great job getting to school on time for the bus too. All the helpers have done a great job of organising the days and getting us up there.
