How Can You Help?

When the Northern Bay College Challenge was launched there was significant community interest and an overwhelming generosity from corporate and individual donors. Each donation, large or small has contributed to our achievements in making a difference to individual students, whole families, and the general well-being of the college. This individual and community support was combined with Government funding strategies to allow students at Northern Bay College to realise their significant potential.
We have made a difference in a number of areas including environments, learning spaces, teaching and learning programs and student retention. The journey to deliver quality educational outcomes across our school community is rewarding to those of us with a passion for enhancing opportunities for young people.
College Leadership and staff will continue the journey but as you have read there are so many opportunities to further ensure student successes which are beyond school or family funding. The ‘Challenge’ for Northern Bay College has always been to maximise the potential of the community – from staff and families to CEOs and business leaders, and from the school grounds to the suburbs, State and beyond. A college supported by the whole community.
Goldsworthy Campus Build – A Vision Realised, a Dream in Progress
In 2020, a Year 10 student focus group shared a bold vision: A building that would stop traffic. Something the community could see and feel – a statement that school is important. A symbolic investment in our future.
That vision has come to life in our new Arts and Performance Centre – a remarkable addition to Goldsworthy Campus that celebrates creativity, expression, and community.
But to make this space truly excellent, we need support beyond the scope of government funding.
There is currently no facility at the college that can accommodate all staff (approximately 400) together. This limits our ability to connect, collaborate, and celebrate as one team.
The new theatre space seats only around 250 people, making it necessary to extend the theatre to better serve school events, performances, and community engagement.
Essential elements of a professional theatre – including stage curtains, sound, and lighting systems – were not covered by initial funding. These are critical for creating a fully functional, inspiring performance space for students and the wider community.
This building is more than bricks and mortar. It’s a commitment to excellence, creativity, and the transformative power of education. With your support, we can realise its full potential.
Building Fund
Contributions to the building program will be treated as a separate donation fund, as this initiative involves distinct financial and logistical considerations.
This approach ensures that funds are readily available and appropriately allocated for the progress and completion of the building project.

How You Can Continue to Support The Challenge
There are several meaningful ways you can help make a lasting impact through The Challenge:
1. Financial Support Your donations—whether one-time, recurring, or through a bequest—are essential to sustaining our programs and launching new initiatives. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us change lives.
2. Partnerships Know an employer who could offer apprenticeships, work experience, or employment opportunities? Please connect them with our Board. These partnerships open critical pathways for our young participants and broaden their future prospects.
3. Mentorship Think about someone in your network—a colleague, friend, or family member—who could become a Challenge Club Mentor. Just a few hours each semester can provide life-changing guidance and support to a student who may otherwise lack access to positive adult role models.
Together, we can continue to make a lasting impact.
