Principals Report

As we near the end of Term 2, I’d like to begin by acknowledging National Reconciliation Week, which we recently celebrated across our school community. The theme for 2025, 'Bridging Now to Next', invites us to reflect on our shared history and move towards a better future. Our students engaged in a range of meaningful activities that honoured Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and encouraged learning, respect, and connection. Please take a moment to read the dedicated page in this newsletter, which highlights some of the wonderful work happening across the school.
We also want to acknowledge our beautiful Mother’s Day Breakfast, which we didn’t get a chance to mention in our last newsletter. This was our very first time hosting a Mother’s Day event, and it was a joyful and heartwarming morning shared with families, students, and staff. We’re hopeful this will become a new tradition—watch this space for our upcoming Father’s Day celebration later this year!
Over the past fortnight, members of our leadership team attended two significant conferences. The first was the PASS Conference (Principals’ Association of Specialist Schools), centred around the theme 'Culture Builds Connections', which explored the power of relationships and positive school culture in specialist settings.
We also attended the Victorian Government School Leadership Conference, where Principals and Assistant Principals from across the state came together under the theme 'Excellence in Every Classroom'. The event provided a valuable opportunity to hear from leading educators and explore how strong networks, and shared learning can drive improvement across all schools. It was energising to see how closely aligned our work at Monash SDS is with these broader system goals.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
