2025 QGSSSA Cross Country Championships

The 2025 QGSSSA Cross Country Championships are fast approaching, and our Cross-Country runners are ready to take on the challenge. 

 

After months of committed training, early morning sessions, and relentless effort, our student runners are set to showcase their team spirit. We encourage the entire Clayfield College community to rally behind our runners and support them as they go head-to-head with the best in the QGSSSA.

 

Spectators

As part of our commitment to school spirit and inter-school sport, all Secondary students are encouraged to attend. This is a key opportunity to contribute to our vibrant community culture and support your peers.

 

House Spirit Bonus

One house point will be awarded to every student in attendance, adding to the tally toward the 2025 Champion House.

 

Spectator Giveaway

All attending students will go into the draw to win the Spectator Prize Pack. Bring your spirit and you might take home the prize.

 

Transport

Clayfield College will provide return transport to John Paul College.

  • Departure: Bayview Terrace at 7:30am
  • Return: Approx. 12:30pm

Please bring morning tea and a water bottle. Boarders will be provided with food and refreshments.

 

Uniform

Students are required to wear their summer uniform, including a blazer and hat.

Gymnasts ready to SHINE at Artistic Gymnastics State Championships

From 23 to 27 May, seven talented Clayfield College students will compete at the 2025 Gymnastics Queensland Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) State Championships, held at Chandler Arena in the Sleeman Sports Complex. 

 

Congratulations to Christina Anictomatis, Iara Chaves, Isla Cullen, Koko Woolnough, Tanya Wu, Lindsay Webb and Evie Shepherd who have qualified to compete at this prestigious event. The Artistic State Championships bring together Queensland’s highest-achieving gymnasts, including national and international level athletes, all vying for State titles and potential selection to the Queensland State Team. 

 

We wish our gymnasts the very best as they represent Clayfield College with pride, determination, and excellence on the state stage. 

Primary Sport

Andrews Cup Netball Competition on Tuesday 27 May 

The Andrews Cup Netball Competition is just around the corner and will be held on Tuesday 27 May, hosted by The Glennie School at the Nell E Robinson Netball Courts, Toowoomba. 

 

Departure Details: All participating players are required to meet at the Tuckshop Courtyard by 5:40am for roll marking. A chartered bus will transport the teams to Toowoomba. 

 

Important: If your child is being collected from the venue, they must be signed out with a teacher before leaving. 

 

Canteen Information: A canteen will be available during the day. Students are encouraged to bring morning tea, lunch, and a refillable water bottle, along with a small amount of spending money (if permitted by parents). 

 

What to Pack: Please ensure your child has the following items in their sports bag: 

  • Clayfield College Sports Hat 
  • College Tracksuit 
  • Towel to sit on (optional) 
  • Pillow and blanket for the bus (optional) 
  • Morning tea, lunch, healthy snacks, and water
