Group 5

This term in Prep 5, students have continued to build on the routines and skills established in Term 1. Term 2 has been all about deepening familiarity with daily expectations while supporting students to take greater ownership of their learning and independence.

A particular highlight has been our daily craft routine. This structured activity supports students to follow visual instructions step-by-step to complete a craft product. Not only does this foster creativity and fine motor skills, it also strengthens their ability to attend to a sequence, develop spatial awareness, and build confidence in their ability to complete tasks independently.

Independence has also been a key focus during our morning routine. All students are working towards unpacking their bags on arrival. This routine promotes responsibility, organisation, and a sense of pride in starting the day independently.

Throughout the term, literacy and numeracy skills have been woven into our everyday activities. Whether exploring sounds during story time, recognising their names on classroom labels, or counting out materials during group tasks, students are consistently developing foundational academic skills in meaningful and engaging ways.

We are proud of the progress every child has made this term and look forward to continued growth and discovery.
