Principals Report

Principal’s Message

"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world." – Dr. Seuss

This quote feels especially fitting as we reflect on the many ways our staff make a difference in the lives of our students and families each day.

On Monday 12th May, we proudly celebrated International Nurses Day and extended our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful school nurses, Zoe and Elise, for the care, compassion, and expertise they provide our students every day. Later in the week, our teaching staff also took the time to recognise and appreciate our incredible Education Support (ES) staff—the backbone of our classrooms—whose contributions ensure every student is supported to thrive.

We also welcomed a group of visiting school leaders for our Network Learning Day, where we showcased our Structured Teaching Framework in action. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many guests commenting on how calm, purposeful, and engaging our classrooms were. It was a proud moment for our team and a true testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff.

A special mention to Liz, our Early Years Assistant Principal, who led a highly successful Early Years Information Session focused on social communication strategies. Families who attended walked away with valuable insights and practical strategies to support their children.

We also had a wonderful time celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime, bringing our whole school community together to share in the joy of reading. It was a reminder of how powerful and unifying stories can be for all ages.

While there is much to celebrate, I do need to raise a gentle reminder regarding car park etiquette. We’ve had a few reports of concerning incidents where families waiting patiently for a car space have had others overtake and take the spot. We understand that mornings and afternoons can be rushed, but we ask all parents and carers to please be respectful, patient, and considerate of one another in the car park. A little courtesy goes a long way in keeping our community safe and positive.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and for working in partnership with us.

Warm regards

Lindy Abernethy
