Spotlight on Learning - Oak

In Oak classrooms, we had a wonderful start to this term. We had a slow but successful start of implementation of InitiaLit program for our students, fostering early literacy skills and boosting confidence in reading. In mathematics, students are engaging in hands-on activities focused on whole numbers and measurement, making learning both interactive and enjoyable.

Over the past few weeks, our students have been actively involved in a variety of exciting sports programs. On Thursdays, we've been participating in Kickability, where we've focused on building our ball-handling skills and learning the fundamentals of AFL. It's been a fun and engaging way to develop teamwork and confidence! Additionally, our Wednesday sessions with SISA Sports have allowed us to explore a range of fundamental movement skills, helping to improve coordination, balance, and agility through a mix of dynamic activities.

Complementing these activities, all classes have been actively learning about emotions and regulation as part of our social-emotional learning program, helping students develop essential life skills. It’s been a busy and fruitful time in the Oak, and we look forward to continuing these positive interactions and learning experiences!
