What's Been Happening in Year 3
Year 3 Zoo Excursion
On June 3rd and 4th, our Year 3 students visited the Melbourne Zoo as part of their Biological Science unit on living things. During the excursion, students explored how animals are grouped based on observable features, bringing their classroom learning to life. They also participated in a hands-on workshop led by zoo educators, where they discovered the unique adaptations and life cycles that help animals survive in a wide range of habitats.
It was a fantastic day filled with discovery, curiosity, and real-world science. The students returned excited and inspired, with a deeper understanding of the natural world and the incredible diversity of life around us.
What's Been happening in Year 1
This term, our students explored the rich and diverse topic of Families and Cultures through stories, class discussions, and creative activities. They learned about the different ways families live, celebrate, and stay connected across the world. Students shared their own traditions, compared cultural practices, and discovered the values that make each family unique. This inquiry helped deepen their understanding of diversity, empathy, and community. We’re proud of the thoughtful reflections and meaningful connections they made throughout the unit!
