BSPS NOTICES

Welcome to our newest staff member
Hey, I’m Jack, a primary teacher with experience across all year levels, and I’ve recently moved back to Melbourne after working in schools around Queensland and Victoria. I’m passionate about sport, student wellbeing, and creating a fun, active learning environment. Outside of school, I love golf, live music, and hanging out with my very chill dog, Roxy. Excited to be teaching PE and joining the BSPS community!

Dogs in Schools Policy
We are sending out our current Dogs in School Policy as a reminder to all families. Recently, we have had instances where dogs have been in the school yard without a lead, in the student line up area and leads being held or controlled by young children.
Some important implementation conditions from the policy to note are:
- All dogs entering Brunswick South PS must be on short leads (not extendable leads) that are controlled by an adult, not by a child
- Dogs cannot be left tied up to a fence or other structure.
- Dogs owners must enter via the Brunswick Road or Park Street gates
Dogs should remain on the asphalt areas and not on the synthetic turf areas
Dog owners are requested to always be mindful that children are the first priority in a school environment and that some children are unfamiliar and/or afraid of dogs
- Dog owners are requested to assess the demeanour of their dog before entering the school grounds and are requested not to enter the school grounds if the demeanour of the dog is not suited to an environment where children are present
Staff can request that dog owners remove their dog from the school grounds
- Dog owners must be familiar with their legal responsibilities and be aware that the school takes no responsibility for the behaviour or actions of their dogs
A full copy of the policy is attached for your information.
Bikes
A reminder to families that students and parents must walk their bikes through the school grounds and not ride them.
Lost Property
There is a significant amount of lost property that has built up over the term.
The lost property is located in the cupboard at the bottom on the stairs in the main building near the art room.
Please check if any items belong to your child, as all items will be donated to charity at the end of the term.
