Dear Families

This week it feels like Autumn at last with cooler mornings and the stunning colours, reminding us to pause and enjoy nature at its best. 

Last week I had the privilege of attending a national program designed for experienced educational leaders. This professional learning opportunity offered valuable insights and the chance to collaborate with other leaders from Catholic schools across Australia.

One of the most impactful moments came from working with Professor Dean Williams, a renowned Harvard academic and expert in adaptive leadership. His work emphasises the importance of navigating complexity, embracing uncertainty, and mobilising people to meet tough challenges. His insights reminded me that leadership isn’t about having all the answers, but rather about fostering the conditions for growth, trust, and courageous conversations. 

I also had the opportunity to work with Andrew Fuller, a clinical psychologist and author, who focuses on resilience and wellbeing in young people. His work in what he calls  CPR – feeling Connected, Protected and Respected – resonated deeply with me. These three simple yet powerful principles speak to the heart of what we do at St Patrick's so our students are in a learning environment where they feel valued, safe, and part of something meaningful.

It is wonderful to see the exciting learning that has already happened this term and I know there is much more to come!
