Anzac Day Display

The Year 11 Modern History class has currently been studying World War I and World War II and have spent time investigating the role of Australia’s ANZAC soldiers.

Students learned why our ANZACs were sent to Gallipoli in WWI, what went wrong, and how they escaped. Students learned about how young some of these men were that went off to fight a war they were not prepared for, and how many lost their lives. Yet, through their sacrifices, they carried with them particular values that have been intertwined into the Australian identity we hold close today – endurance, courage, ingenuity, good humour, and mateship.

Our class designed this display to represent the sadness behind the sacrifices made by our ANZACs, which is filled with facts about what their experience was, and to say thank you to the ANZACs. We will remember them.
