Term 2 Update
Our Parent Partnership Panel recently met to continue their important work supporting the Mount Alvernia College community. Here's a summary of key discussions and updates.
We were pleased to welcome Bernadette Kay from CSPQ, who shared insights into how the organisation supports Catholic schools and families across Queensland. CSPQ advocates for Catholic education at all levels and works closely with parent groups and school leaders. Bernadette also mentioned positive feedback about Mt A from parents in Albany Creek—always great to hear!
Term 1 saw events held for Year 7 and Year 10 parents, and the panel is looking into new formats to boost parent participation.
This term, we held our Semester 1 Parent Engagement Evening with Dr Justin Coulson. He spoke to Mt A and Padua parents on Emotional Regulation, providing helpful advice and tips to help our young people grow.
Meanwhile, our Mum & Daughter Movie Night was hugely popular and sold out!
Parent Panel members were all hands on deck at the Open Day sausage sizzle and welcome activities.
The Parent Partnership Panel meets once each term, with the next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, 5 August. If you would like to get in touch at any time, please email the College at mta@mta.qld.edu.au and include “Attention PPP” in the subject line.
Thank you to the College Leadership Team for their continued support and meaningful engagement with the Parent Partnership Panel.
