Technology News

This term in Technology, students across all year levels have been engaged in exciting and meaningful digital learning experiences.

Our Prep students have been introduced to the Indi Cars, learning the basics of directional programming through color-coded commands. They’ve also been exploring the tools in SeeSaw, beginning to document their learning digitally.

In Years 1 and 2, students have been working through the Indi Car Challenge Cards, developing their problem-solving and sequencing skills while navigating increasingly complex tasks.

Years 3 and 4 have been coding with Sphero Bolt, starting with beginner to intermediate block coding. They programmed their Spheros to mimic different animals and even used infrared communication to simulate a school of fish—an engaging way to combine technology, creativity, and collaboration.

Our Year 5 and 6 students have taken their coding to the next level, working from intermediate to advanced block coding. They explored conditional logic using the Sphero’s luminosity sensor and programmed their robots to behave like nocturnal or diurnal animals, responding to changes in light using if/then/else blocks.

It’s been an exciting term filled with innovation, exploration, and skill-building as students across the school continue to develop as confident and creative digital learners.
