“On-line safety”

https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents

Society has changed much in the cyber world over the past few years. It is very challenging, especially for young people to navigate their way safely in the on-line world. The above website is a wonderful resource to support our community regarding the on-line safety of our children. You can also subscribe to the parent newsletter, or participate in webinars. There are sections on the website for educators, parents, young people, kids and more.

The esafety website empowers all groups of people to be safe in their on-line choices.

These 3 priorities are helpful in protecting children/teenagers from on-line harm.

1] a strong sense of personal identity – confident in who they are.

2] a life filled with respectful relationships – positive and encouraging role models

3] resilience skills – ‘whatever happens … I will be okay’ [my simple definition]

So, this article is just a taste of what is available. I’ll leave you to investigate the resources that the eSafety Commissioner has for us. I trust that they will empower you and your family to stay safe in the crazy cyber world.
