MPPS Student Values Awards

Students who have demonstrated our school values (Respect, Kindness, Gratitude) are selected from each cohort to receive an award certificate and our new Values wristband to wear to school each day. The students receive this award at a cohort assembly that is conducted twice per term.

Prep

Oscar ~This award goes to a considerate, helpful and very kind student. Oscar is always respectful when he comes to Performing Arts class. Oscar is kind, helpful, and brings a great attitude with him. He brings a love of learning into the lessons, showing attentive listening and sharing ideas. Oscar tackles his learning tasks aiming to do his best. Also thank you for making me feel welcome as the new Performing Arts teacher. Congratulations Oscar!

Seph~ Seph always shows how grateful he is when others have offered to help him. Seph uses beautiful manners when he speaks to others in class, around the school and in the yard. He shows his appreciation and gratitude by listening carefully and responding with ‘thank you’ when he has been supported with his learning and friendships at school.

Robert ~ This award goes to a member of Prep B who consistently demonstrates our school value of respect. Robert is a thoughtful and considerate member of our class who always treats others the way he would like to be treated. He listens carefully, uses polite language, and shows kindness in both his words and actions. Whether he’s working with a partner, helping a classmate, or following instructions, Robert demonstrates respect for his peers, his teachers, and our learning environment. He takes pride in doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, and encourages others to do the same. Robert’s calm and caring nature helps create a safe and welcoming classroom where everyone feels included and valued.  We are so proud of Robert for being a respectful role model in Prep B. Well done, Robert!

Darcy ~This award goes to a truly kind, thoughtful and compassionate student. Darcy radiates kindness every day at school! Darcy begins every day with a bright smile, greeting her classmates and teachers. A wonderful role model to her peers, Darcy shows our MPPS value of kindness through her every action. Whether it is helping out a classmate, keeping her classroom clean or cheering a friend up, Darcy always uses kind words and actions towards others. Your ability to see when others need help, or a kind friend is a true talent, Darcy. We love having your warm personality, thoughtful stories and kindness as part of our class. Congratulations, Darcy! We are so lucky to have you part of Prep A! 

Isabel ~ This award goes to a member of Prep B who consistently demonstrates our school value of gratitude. Isabel truly loves coming to school each day and is a warm, caring, and enthusiastic member of Prep B. Her kind words and thoughtful manners brighten the classroom and make others feel valued. She understands the importance of saying thank you and does so sincerely and often—whether it's after receiving help, being included, or simply being treated with kindness. Isabel’s genuine appreciation sets a wonderful example for her peers and contributes to a classroom culture built on respect and kindness.I am so proud of Isabel for living out our school values and helping make Prep B such a positive and supportive place to learn and grow. Well done, Isabel!

Year 1/2 

Stella ~  This award recognises a student who demonstrates respect through everything they say and do. Stella Ewert exemplifies this every day, treating classmates, teachers, and all members of our school community with kindness and fairness. She is quick to offer help whenever it’s needed, always willing to give her time and energy to support others.

Stella respects our school environment by keeping shared spaces clean and taking care of classroom materials. She brings a love of learning into every lesson, showing attentive listening and sharing thoughtful ideas. Stella tackles her schoolwork with dedication, always aiming to do her best and seeking out opportunities to challenge herself further.

Stella is a thoughtful and supportive classmate. When she notices someone having difficulty, she gently offers her assistance. During group activities, she makes sure everyone has a chance to contribute and promotes equal involvement. Congratulations, Stella! Thank you for your outstanding example and for helping make our school a respectful and welcoming place. 

Poppy ~ The Kindness Award is presented to Poppy Mullavey, a student who consistently models care, compassion, and selflessness. Poppy has an extraordinary ability to see the best in others and always ensures everyone feels valued and appreciated. Whether it’s offering a helping hand to a classmate in need, sharing encouraging words, or simply being consistently positive, Poppy knows what it truly means to show kindness in both big and small ways. Poppy’s interactions are thoughtful and sincere, and they continually create an atmosphere where others feel supported, understood, and respected. Poppy encourages others to achieve their best and be the best version of themselves. She makes our school a more inclusive and caring place for everyone. This award acknowledges Poppy’s incredible capacity to brighten the lives of those around her. Poppy’s positive and caring actions inspire others to always choose kindness. We are truly fortunate to have such a remarkable individual in our school community. Poppy, you are a shining star!

Brady~ Brady shows gratitude through his words and his actions. He is enthusiastic about his learning and puts in his best effort. Brady makes the most of  situations and looks positively at new opportunities. Brady shows gratitude by saying ‘thank you’ when he is given something, or someone has done something for him. Brady shows he has lots to be grateful for, and leads others to see life in this way. Well done, Brady! 

Lucas~ Awarded to Lucas for consistently demonstrating gratitude, resilience, and a genuine love for Physical Education. Lucas approaches every lesson with a positive attitude and a deep appreciation for the opportunity to participate, regardless of the activity. His exceptional resilience shines through in challenging situations, where he remains focused, determined, and eager to improve. Beyond his personal effort, Lucas is a supportive and thoughtful peer, regularly offering constructive feedback and encouragement to help others grow. His actions foster a collaborative and uplifting learning environment for all.

Year 3/4

Aleeia ~ Aleeia consistently demonstrates respect through kind words, thoughtful actions, and a positive attitude toward peers, staff, and the school community. She leads by example—following instructions, making safe choices, enabling others to learn in a supportive environment, and showing care for shared resources and materials. Her responsible and respectful conduct makes her a truly deserving recipient of this award.

Arjun ~ Arjun displays gratitude every day. He uses his manners to say ‘thank you’ when something is given to him. Arjun values other people and appreciates his time with them. When he is faced with challenges or things don’t go as expected, Arjun keeps calm and looks for something positive to focus on. Well done and félicitations Arjun!

James ~ James receives this award today because his values stand out in our MPPS community. He is a kind and respectful student, and he’s grateful and happy for having each day to learn and play among friends. James demonstrates gratitude every day through his interactions with his teachers and peers.  He always uses incredible manners, such as listening appropriately and waiting his turn, and he leads the way in showing expected behaviours in the classroom. Thank you, James! You make our classroom and our school a better place, just by being here!

Year 5/6

Indiana ~ This award is for a most thoughtful, and considerate person. The commitment shown towards others is demonstrated in a thoughtful and kind manner, always putting others needs before their own, and always approaching tasks with a calm energy. Their strong leadership qualities are demonstrated through their support of others and organisation of activities for everyone to enjoy. This person is reliable and approaches responsibilities with positivityEncouraging others by modelling respectful behaviour and checking in with teachers at the end of each session, Indi Award displays great kindness and takes every opportunity to express herself creatively. Congratulations Indi, it is a pleasure to work with you!

Helen ~ Helen displays all of our school values each and every day. She has been a respectful, kind and grateful student from the moment she started Prep, six years ago. 

Helen respectfully greets her classmates and staff each morning. She is always respectful during her learning with all teachers and students. Helen uses beautiful manners throughout the day and speaks to everyone by name to ensure they feel seen and respected. Helen shows great maturity in her understanding of others and respects that we are all unique and bring different traits to our relationships and experiences at school. Helen is an incredibly hard worker and respectfully makes the very most of her learning opportunities at school which has enabled her to achieve very high academic and personal results.Helen, you are an absolute pleasure to have at MPPS and we are very proud of the mature, respectful, kind and grateful person you are. It has been wonderful to watch you grow and develop these last six years. Thank you for being a respectful leader of our school in Year 6 this year. You are an exemplary role model for everyone. Congratulations!!

Chance ~Chance is a caring, and respectful student who shows kindness in her interactions with all students. She is always willing to help others, and her gentle, friendly nature makes her a valued member of our school community. One lovely example of her kindness happened recently at lunchtime, when some students were feeling a bit anxious in the quiet room. Chance took the time to sit with them and offer words of comfort and encouragement. She helped them feel safe and understood, simply by being herself – calm, compassionate, and supportive. Chance always uses her manners, speaks kindly to others, and shows empathy in a way that brightens the day of everyone around her. She leads by example and treats everyone with respect, making our school a better place just by being part of it. Well done, Chance – we are so lucky to have you!

Remy ~ Remy constantly show’s respect every time he comes to the office and also when he answers the phone. He always speaks kindly, listens carefully, and treats others with respect. He is also quick to offer help when someone needs it, which shows just how thoughtful and dependable he is. Remy, keep being a great example for others—well done!

Jessica ~ A Student Who Embodies Kindness: A True Reflection of Our School Values

In every school community, there are students who go beyond to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. One such student who consistently exemplifies the school value of kindness is Jessica Spalding. Known for their warm-hearted nature and willingness to support others, Jessica has become a shining example of how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in a school environment. Jessica has consistently demonstrated a genuine care for their peers, teachers, and staff. Whether it’s helping a classmate who is struggling with a difficult task or offering words of encouragement to someone feeling down, Jessica knows how to spread positivity and warmth. Standout moments occur frequently during Performing Arts when Jessica notices when students are feeling isolated. Without hesitation, they welcomed them into her group, making sure they felt comfortable and included. This simple yet profound act of kindness not only helps students settle in but also creates an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and accepted. In every interaction, Jessica makes it clear that kindness is not just a value to be talked about, but a way of life. Their actions remind us that in a world that can often feel divided, the simple act of showing kindness can bridge gaps and create lasting, meaningful connections. Well done!
