2025 House Captains
House Points:
Great to see so many students making positive choices and being awarded house points. Continue to be kind to yourself and others and earn your house points.
Foundation:
Over the past three weeks, the Foundation Students have been exposed to a variety of different striking techniques. We began the unit practising a sweeping pass using pool noodles to expose the students to the motion of a hockey pass.
After this we moved to practising a cricket shot (straight drive), t-ball strike and tennis forehand strike. Each of these striking techniques were at a set station for the students to practise throughout the lesson. We continued the stationed activities into the third week of the unit to continue the growth and confidence of the student's striking techniques.
Year One/Two
Over the past three weeks, the Year One/Two have been exposed to a variety of different striking techniques. We began the unit practising a sweeping pass using pool noodles to expose the students to the motion of a hockey pass.
After this we moved to practising a cricket shot (straight drive), t-ball strike and tennis forehand strike. Each of these striking techniques were at a set station for the students practise throughout the lesson. During the third lesson we introduced match-play with student choice. We played a game of continuous cricket, but the students had the choice on whether they wanted to strike the ball with a cricket bat, tennis racquet, hockey stick or t-ball bat. It was great to see the students work together in their teams during this lesson.
Year One - The Year One students also completed their health lesson for this term. The task asked them to pack a healthy lunch from a set bunch of food items. They were also able to pack their lunch according to the food item e.g. lunch, snack & brain food.
Year Three/Four
Over the past three weeks, the Year three/four students participated in a three-week soccer program delivered by an accredited coach from Gecko Sports Knox. Over the three weeks, the students were exposed to the fundamental skills involved with the game (passing, dribbling, ball control and shooting. Each skill was either practised in small groups or with a partner. Once the students demonstrated confidence applying each skill, they then moved to match-play. The students played both games outdoor and indoor to allow them to apply the skills in different environments. It was great to watch the students excel over the three-week program.
Year Five/Six

Year 56 Winter Sport Carnival
On Thursday 29th May the Year 56 students participated in the District Winter Sport Carnival. The sports that we entered for were netball, t-ball, AFL and soccer. The number of sign-ups for each team was super positive and highlighted the level of engagement from our 56 cohort.
All reports were that our teams lived our school values over the course of the day and conducted themselves in a positive manner.
Congratulations to all students who participated in the day.
A further congratulations to our AFL 9's Green team who won through to Division which will take place in Term Three.
District, Division and Region Cross-Country
On Friday 23rd May we took forty of our year 3-6 students represent our school at the District Cross Country Carnival at Crystal Brooke Park. In comparison to previous years, the weather was perfect for the event and the track nice and dry. It was fantastic to see the students supporting each other throughout the day. Congratulations to the students who progressed to the Division stage and will run at the Yarra Valley Racecourse.
On Tuesday 3rd June, fourteen students represented our school at the Division Cross Country Carnival at Yarra Valley Racecourse. The course itself is a little more challenging than the District stage, but this did not seem to bother our competitors. The students ran exceptionally well in their respective races. Congratulations to the students who progressed to the Region stage and will run at the Yarra Valley Racecourse.
On Thursday 12th June, six of our students represented our school at the Eastern Region Metropolitan Cross Country Carnival. To reach this level is a terrific achievment in itself and we are super proud of each of you.
Volleyball Cup
On Wednesday 4th June, 34 of our Year Five/Six students represented our school at the Primary School Volleyball Cup at Upwey High.
The day was broken up into two parts, skill practise and exposure and a round robin against the other schools.
To see the teamwork and comradery on display was fantastic to watch. Our student's confidence grew with each game that they played.
We were fortunate enough that two of our teams made the grand final. Our Year Six boys team and our Year Five/Six girls team both placed 2nd but put up an amazing effort in their respective grand final matches. Congratulations to all students who were involved in the day.
