Vote For the St Marcellin Centre - People's Choice

Our stunning new primary school building, the St Marcellin Centre, is up for an award from the Australian Institute of Architects (Queensland).  While we can’t influence the judges at this stage, we CAN get behind the People’s Choice award!

The winner will be announced next Friday so please rally the troops and get voting. Only one vote per email address – if you have several, feel free to use them all.

By all means invite friends, family, and work mates to get on board – it’s one vote we can all agree on!

Queensland Awards - Australian Institute of Architects

I could see the judges were very impressed when they visited the building on Tuesday 4 March. While there are many big budget projects in the competition, our St Marcellin Centre stands out for its very Marist humility, simplicity, and modesty.

Our outstanding architect on the project was Old Boy (1985) Paul Hotston. The design is characteristic of his sensitivity to site which encompasses geographical, physical, environmental, and philosophical / cultural dimensions.

The St Marcellin Centre was designed to facilitate innovative and collaborative teaching approaches, so our youngest students are supported to grow into curious, confident, compassionate young men.

This is the first in a series of exciting capital projects that will strongly position this great College for the next 100 years and beyond.
