Kindergarten in Action

Good afternoon everyone and I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend.

Kindergarten have enjoyed settling into school throughout the term and have done a great job at adjusting to our learning routines. Over the last couple of weeks Kindergarten students have been learning about the letters ‘m’, ‘s’ and ‘t’. We have been focusing on words that start with the sounds of these letters and how to write each of these letters. Next week we will be moving on to the letter ‘a’ where we will be able to start putting some sounds together to make words!

In our literacy lessons we have also been spending time on forming sentences based on our storybooks. As a class, students have been sequencing our words into the correct order so that it makes sense before we have a go at writing it in our books.

In Maths, we have just finished learning about whole numbers and we are now learning about sequencing events.

Kindergarten enjoy their time with Mrs Mitchell for Religion lessons as well as our weekly sport lessons where students have been lucky enough to have visitors to school to teach them about cricket!

This week, Kinder had Mrs L teach them about Music. Students were able to use a musical instrument and make a beat as a whole class.

I am very proud of all of the students in our class throughout their first term of Kindergarten.

I hope you all have a lovely and restful holiday!
