Junior School

Restorative Practice

On the first day of the school year, I highlighted to the boys that they are going to hear me speak a lot about making mistakes, the importance of owning our behaviour and how we respond once we have made a mistake. As we all know, mistakes are a part of life and provide a good learning opportunity for us all, particularly our boys.

Within the Junior School, when a boy makes a choice which does not align with our College values or expectations, he will be issued with a reflection sheet. This is an opportunity for him to accept accountability, reflect on his behaviour, apologise and start the next day with a fresh start.

If your son is issued with a reflection sheet, you will receive a copy via email to assist you to have a discussion with your son. As previously mentioned at the parent information session, we ask for trust in this process. We thank you for supporting our decision to provide your son with the reflection opportunity and trust the reflection sheet provides enough information for your conversation at home.

For your reference, a behaviour reflection sheet can be accessed using the link below.

Concussion Policy

As we approach the Winter sporting season, at times, unfortunately we see some boys receive injuries which include concussion. A reminder that the College takes a conservative approach to the management of a student’s concussion and return to health. If your son receives a head-knock at sport or school you will be informed by either Student Services, Junior School administration or Mr. Luke Thompson.

Where a concussion is diagnosed students will need clearance from a GP to return to contact sport after 21 days. A full copy of our concussion policy can be found via Concussion Management Policy.

Uniform and Personal Presentation reminders

As we approach the end of Term One, we need to ensure we maintain our high standards in personal presentation. A reminder of some important elements to the Uniform and Personal Presentation information, which can be accessed in full in your son’s diary.

Footwear is to be black leather school shoes with a heel that are polished and well maintained (black lifestyle shoes/runners are not permitted). All students should be neatly presented.

With regards to student hair styles, the following expectations should be met for 2025:

  • Hair should be well styled, brushed, neat and clean.

  • Hair should be cut so that it clears the collar at the back and the fringe does not fall in front of the eyes at any time.

  • Hair is not to be worn covering the ears or tucked behind the ears.

We thank you for your support in ensuring the highest standards of personal presentation are maintained.

I wish all Year 6 boys the very best for their camp, departing Wednesday. I thank the staff who are making this camp possible. We look forward to hearing all about the exciting adventures once they return.

God Bless,

Synergy Solar Car Challenge

What an exciting day for our Year 6 boys, Lachie, Isaac, Joshua and Daniel, as they competed in the Synergy Solar Car Challenge! The team worked well to build a solid car that passed inspection straight away with their impeccable wiring and design, a real testament to their hard work and dedication.

The first race didn’t go quite as planned as the car got caught on the track, but the team bounced back in the second race, finishing a strong third place, really close behind second in their heat! I’m incredibly proud of their effort and enthusiasm! Well done, boys!

Coding and STEM Club

The boys have been having a fantastic time at Coding and STEM Club, coming together each week to develop their coding skills. They have been working through a range of fun and engaging activities, including drag-and-drop block coding, creating simple animations and solving maze challenges using algorithms.

These tasks are developing important problem-solving and logical thinking skills while learning the foundations of coding. It's been great to see their enthusiasm and collaboration as they help each other and celebrate their successes. I look forward to seeing their coding skills continue to grow throughout the Term. It has been fantastic to see the boys apply their STEM knowledge!

Junior School Have Sum Fun

A select group of Mathematics Wizards from year 5 and 6 attended the Have Sum Fun face to face Competition on Tuesday at Nedlands Primary school. It was amazing to see 40 tables of students working furiously to complete their problems.

The Energy in the room was sizzling. Trinity Table 1 came in a creditable 12 in a very tough competition, but the boys thoroughly enjoyed the day. They are looking forward to next year where they have vowed to win!

Clean Up Australia!

Today, our Junior School students and staff rolled up their sleeves for Clean Up Australia Day, doing their part to protect our environment and keep our community clean.

Clean Up Australia is all about taking action for a sustainable future, reminding us those small efforts, like picking up litter, make a big impact.

At Trinity, we are committed to stewardship and teaching our students the importance of caring for the world around them. Well done to our young changemakers for leading by example!
