We are very proud of the work we do in the Wellbeing space, which utilises great support from The Resilience Project.
Please find here a link to the TRP 2025 Parent and Carer Hub. I would encourage you to check out the content on this Hub - there are lots of great, practical resources for you to use at home.
If you missed it in the last newsletter, here's the link to the recording of the Building Resilience at Home webinar, which was run for our school community a few weeks ago. This link will be active until April 13th.
Building Resilience at Home webinar
Last week, I had the pleasure of accompanying two groups of our student leaders to different leadership conferences.
Our School and Voice Captains - Reyansh, Amanda, Jae and Tiana - attended the Dream and Lead Student Leadership Conference at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. This event was huge - attended by more than 2,000 primary-aged student leaders from across Victoria. Our leaders participated in a range of activities that aimed to build their own ideas of what 'leadership' means to them. The chance to network and share thoughts with other student leaders was an extremely valuable experience for our leaders and I hope they takeaway some wonderful ideas that will shape them as leaders and people.
It was also great to have some time with our leaders as they asked many questions about my own educational leadership journey! They were like sponges and took it all in - and ironically, we then bumped into the leaders from my previous school (Croydon Hills) and it was very nice to see them compare notes, chat about their roles... and even have a School Vs School dance battle!
Next it was our Music and Art Captains turn. Heathmont College and their senior student leaders, in partnership with Maroondah Council, ran a full day of leadership development activities aimed at Year 5 and 6 students. Our Music and Art Captains - Bridie, Theodora, Diva and Alice - took part in some hands-on, collaborative tasks with other local primary schools. They focused on leadership skills such as being unique and being true to your self and your own passions, public speaking skills, problem solving skills and the importance of teamwork. They also had a bit of fun bopping along to a 'Just Dance' challenge!
It has been wonderful to see the significant growth our leaders have already made this year. I am looking forward to seeing these highly capable young adults lead our school for another three terms and set a fantastic example for our other students.
Harmony Day a couple of weeks ago was an amazing celebration of our community's cultural diversity. A huge highlight for many students was the Bollywood Dance session, run by one of our parents, Palak. The energy and excitement the session created was a fantastic way to finish off our day.

We wrapped up the first term today with a great whole school assembly, which gave us some wonderful performances from our Kelly Sports dance club and the school rock band. We are very proud of the efforts of all students across the term and I would like to congratulate all students on taking up all the opportunities offered to them by the school.
I hope you are all able to find some time for yourselves over the school holiday break to switch off, relax and refresh before we welcome the students back for Term 2 on Tuesday April 22nd.
